SPIRIT OF THE PLACE

SPIRIT OF THE PLACE

Written and directed by Joe Plumb

Follow a story that was Ryde as it’s backbone…

Spirit of the Place is a new work written and directed by Joe Plumb. The ten scenes of this sonic performance weave together real and fictional voices and chart the lives of our protagonists as they navigate life’s milestones. Download, stop and listen to each scene as you arrive at the corresponding Union Street location or sit back and listen at home, letting your imagination take over.
Spirit of the Place has been directed by Joe Plumb with support from Rachel Shore, Plastic Mermaids, Sassy Productions and the residents of Ryde, Isle of Wight.

Produced by Ryde Arts and funded by Arts Council England.

Created during lockdown and released in August 2020

VENTNOR FRINGE FESTIVAL

As part of the 2019 Ventnor Fringe Festival we curated a weekend of theatre for all the family to enjoy. We had sellout performances of Renegade Girls and Hansel & Gretel and audiences absolutely loved the food fights in Bagwitch's Revolting Right Royal Knees Up and dancing teddies with David Gibb in our Fringe Fiesta. The Horse Box was used as a Free Fringe venue and saw many acts perform poetry, music and drama over the course of the festival. It was a fantastic weekend of performances and we cannot wait to get back to Ventnor Fringe this year!

TAPNELL FARM PARK- SUNSET SHINDIGS

TAPNELL FARM PARK- SUNSET SHINDIGS

We were resident at Tapnell Farm Park over the summer of 2019 for their Sunset Shindig events. We had a ridiculous amount of fun on the farm performing Hansel & Gretel, The Bagwitch's Revolting Right Royal Knees Up and The Game Show Show Live! Carrot darts and pie faces aplenty!

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide accessible performances that the whole family can enjoy, we presented our performances with BSL at selected events.
